To run
Is instinctive,
The fresh air
Coursing through;
Finding energy
Where first there is none;
To tread the lanes
As day is done;
Though tired, to feel renewed,
Spurred on by the towering clouds behind,
The wind coursing in the pines
Grey sky darkening
Squeezing out the light;
The onset of a stormy night.
Yet invigorated,
energised,
With wind in the face
I can pick up speed
Increasing the pace.
Hanging on to Summer
The rain we drove through on our way to the coast almost made us turn back. Today ( for the first time ) we wore coats and heavy spots caused us to make a swift retreat to the car. Squally showers, rainbows and dramatic cloud all day.

Graduation
Finally, after thinking it would never happen, the Royal Agricultural University has held their graduation for 2020 students.

Favourite Walk

Half cobbled
Half rough
The path
Walked and worn
Centuries old
Bouncing echos from granite hewn walls
Of wooden clogged boys
Leading sheep
To moorland grass
Between heather and gorse
And Whortleberries
In tiny purple bursts.
Renewal
Panoramic the view stretches wide
Spans the skies
And takes my mood
From moorland
Where the cloud still shrouds
To pale rays under the sky
Towards cliffs just visible on the skyline- a coastal horizon
Drawn am I to the sweep of
The hill
The lush grass
Where cattle are yet to graze
That soaks my shoes
To the triangulation point
Where in awe I stand
The big skies, the grandeur
Our house set just below
To the stony track and red stained soil
That grounds my feet
As I run down
To the sunken lane
Thoughts tumbling
Thrown to the air
In effortless pace
Freedom is given
Space to breathe
The Wisdom of life
In being renewed.
